Biography
Inktober is much more than just an artistic challenge: it is a global event that, every October, brings together thousands of creators around a common goal. The principle is simple but demanding: produce a black and white drawing per day, on a predefined or free theme, for 31 days. This challenge, which has become cult, is a unique opportunity for artists, whether amateurs or professionals, to develop their creativity, refine their technique and, above all, gain visibility with a wide audience.
Over the years, Inktober has become a veritable springboard for emerging talents, offering them a platform to get noticed by collectors, galleries and art enthusiasts. Social networks play a key role in this dynamic, allowing artists to share their works daily and interact directly with their community.
In 2024, MoGA decided to put its own stamp on the event by organizing its first Inktober. This unique competition proposed themes from art and geek universes, celebrating popular culture and imagination in all its forms. Participants, from diverse backgrounds, explored themes ranging from comic book heroes to cult references from science fiction and gaming, with a freedom of interpretation that gave rise to incredibly varied works.
This MoGA initiative not only helped to shine a spotlight on promising talent, but it also strengthened the connection between the worlds of geek art and contemporary art collections. The participants’ works were exhibited on virtual and physical platforms, attracting the attention of collectors and the most prestigious galleries. Some artists, such as winners Ultimanu, Les Logos Antho and FCWooD, saw their work propelled to the forefront thanks to this competition, solidifying Inktober as a must-attend event for any artist seeking recognition.
With its mix of creativity, technique and passion for the geek universe, Inktober continues to demonstrate that it is much more than a challenge: it is a gateway to artistic recognition and meeting the biggest players in the art market.
