With Unknown Player , Jacques Petitjean pays homage to the world of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) while injecting his own artistic sensibility. This work, inspired by the famous battle royale, revisits the iconic survivor with a military helmet with a touch of derision and admiration.

The character, depicted from behind, wears his iconic helmet, a frying pan on his shoulder and a backpack, ready for battle. The frying pan, which has become a cult symbol of the game, adds a humorous note to the image, while embodying the improvisation and resilience needed to survive in this merciless universe. A small yellow crown above his head, drawn with an almost childlike lightness, reinforces this idea of ironic triumph, symbolizing both the king of the battlefields and the playful aspect of the game.

Jacques Petitjean captures the essence of PUBG here: constant tension mixed with absurd and memorable moments. The graphic style, precise but refined, highlights the essential details without overloading the composition. The white background amplifies the contrast and refocuses attention on the character, while leaving the scene open to the viewer's imagination.

Unknown Player is much more than a simple nod to a cult video game. It is a celebration of gaming culture and its emotional impact, where each game can become a unique adventure. With this work, Petitjean transcends the simple reference to offer a vision of the PUBG universe that is at once fun, nostalgic and resolutely artistic. A must-have piece for fans of video games and contemporary art.

Telling the world in 8 bits

Cédric Miso

Each creation is a scene frozen in time, halfway between childhood and imagination, between the real world and the one we dreamed of through a cathode-ray screen. His style, precise and vibrant, is inspired as much by early video games as by the visual storytelling of cinema or Japanese animation. In his works, buildings breathe, temples hide secrets, and small, solitary heroes face monsters as large as memories. Miso revisits the city, nature, ruins, or science fiction like replaying a cult level: with love, rigor, and a touch of joyful melancholy. Each work is created pixel by pixel, like a digital embroidery where every detail counts. He blends retro 8-bit aesthetics with complex compositions, full of stories and symbols. Cédric Miso is the art of making our geek memories vibrate through paintings as gentle as they are powerful. Images to look at for a long time—and to feel deeply.
