Since 1977, the Stormtrooper has symbolized a faceless empire: cold, anonymous, relentless. Max Graire chooses to show it differently, not as a symbol of authority but as a mask starting to crack.
Here, everything is tension. The lines are fine, raw, almost organic. This drawing doesn't freeze the figure, it weakens it. The armor dissolves, the structure falls apart. What remains is the echo of a vanished power, the graphic memory of a crumbling order. Each line seems to vibrate. Each empty space says something. The image doesn't speak of the past, it extends it, in negative space.
The edition is limited to 30 prints, each one individually crafted by hand in France.
Printed on the finest Hahnemühle paper using museum-grade pigment inks, every detail is treated with the highest level of care and precision. This is what we call fine art.
Each piece is numbered, signed, and delivered framed in a matte black frame handcrafted by our artisan partner in Normandy, with anti-reflective glass. The final assembly is completed by hand in our own workshops.
The artwork comes in a custom-made rigid case, individually numbered and designed as a natural extension of the piece. Inside, you’ll find a certificate of authenticity printed on the same fine art paper, along with an exclusive collector’s booklet exploring the story, context, and artistic process behind the work of Max Graire.
